He waits in much anticipation for the return of Lensman with Golden Hair, and the information his Lens holds. After loosing contact with the Birttania, Haynes decides to mount an offensive on the only known enemy strong hold: The Thronite Mines on the planet Ratelix.

Thorndyke is a Galactic Patrolman in charge of locating the Birttania, and the Lensman within. He doesn't do a whole lot in the Movie.
