Worsel is an alien creature that's more than he appears. He's a Lensman operating on his homeworld, the planet Delgon. Worsel is Valantian, an alien race with a slight resemblance to a pterodactyl with the ability to transform their arms into wings and use them for flight.

He first meets Kim when he rescues his fellow lensman from the Catarats. Worsel is the most reliable of the group. In the end he's always saving Kim and the gang from some sort of danger, especially if they are falling from a great height. He's always there to catch them.
